Home Automation Master System

2. Master Controlled System - Instead of having a computer running the house permanently, you install a single Master Dimmer in a central room in the house, for example the living room. The master dimmer stores timer events as well as all the actions that need to happen when switches are pressed all around the house. You only need one master in a house, all other rooms still require normal dimmers or switchers. The master can be reconfigured at any time through the use of computer software, which does not require a physical connection as programming is also done wirelessly.

Case Study

  • 1. A single Master Dimmer is installed in the living room
  • 2. All other rooms contain normal Dimmers or Switchers
  • 3. As many wireless switches are placed around the house as necessary
  • 4. Using the computer software and the wireless dongle, the Master Dimmer in the living room is wirelessly programmed

Software

Through the use of our software and the wireless dongle you can program the Master Dimmer in your house. Programming is straightforward when you are clear on what needs to happen when in your house.

An example:

Master Programming
  • One timer event has been programmed. At 19:30, every single day except on Saturday and Sunday, the light connected to channel 2 of the Master in the Living Room will switch on to a brightness of 50%
  • Twelve switch events have been programmed. Six events are run when button 1 is pressed on the switch in the bedroom. These events cause all six channels of the dimmer in the bedroom to switch to 80% brightness
  • The other six events are run when button 2 is pressed on the switch in the bedroom. These cause all six channels to be switched off in the bedroom

Of course, this is only an example. In this example there are a total of 13 events programmed into the master dimmer in the living room. Please note that the master dimmer currently has a memory limit of 500 events.

The software is also required to set the date and time into the master dimmer once. This only has to be done once in most cases because the master dimmer will keep the time for about three days without power. Daylight savings mode is also enabled or disabled using the computer software.

In case of new functionality, a firmware update may be required to dimmers, switchers, and other Seblectric devices in your house. There is no need to remove any devices from their current position. They can be updated wirelessly through the computer software within seconds.
